Professor Graeme Laurie
Graeme Laurie is Professor of Medical Jurisprudence in the School of Law at the University of Edinburgh. He is also Director of AHRC/SCRIPT, a law and technology research centre sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Research Council also located in the University of Edinburgh. His research interests relate to the role of the law in protecting, promoting and regulating science and medicine. He has a particular interest in privacy issues and is Chairman of the Privacy Advisory Committee for Scotland. In other roles, he serves as Chair of the UK Biobank Ethics and Governance Council and is a member of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics and the BMA Ethics Committee.
