The MA Degree structure at Dundee allows you to acquire a broad and deep education in the traditional Humanities (English, History, Philosophy) as well as areas of particular contemporary concern (European Studies, Film Studies), we also offer options with Creative Writing, and specialisms in European Philosophy. Many of our students also enhance their studies by taking one or more languages alongside their main subject.

The MA provides a framework offering not just in-depth study in individual subject areas, but an opportunity to make links across the Humanities and the Social Sciences (for example Politics, International Relations, Psychology, Geography, Economics) so as to work in more interdisciplinary ways.

Language courses

The Languages section of Humanities provides various short courses for students, staff and the general public such as Applied Languages, Languages for All and the Graduate Diplomas in Spanish, French, and German (Distance Learning).
